Medicine Dzi
The Healing Dzi bead is primarily designed for individuals engaged in the practice of healing, catering to healers. It serves to replenish the expended energy during the healing process and acts as a protective shield against negative energies, facilitating the healer’s own recovery.
In the era preceding the introduction of Buddhism in Tibet, this bead was referred to as “Medicine,” and presently, it is also known as the Dzi Buddha Medicine. It is believed to encapsulate the healing prowess of the Buddha of Medicine, considered one of the earliest physicians devoted to treating humanity.
The Buddha of Medicine is an enlightened being, radiating compassion to all living entities. It safeguards against physical and mental ailments, shielding beings from various dangers. Furthermore, it aids in eradicating the three primary toxins—attachment, hatred, and ignorance—that taint minds and souls, serving as the root causes of afflictions.
To recover from ailments and maintain overall well-being, there exists a practice centered around the Buddha of Medicine. This practice involves chanting a specific mantra of the Buddha of Medicine in a meditative state.
This practice not only enhances a healer’s ability to perceive but also positively influences the identification of disease causes and accurate diagnosis. Moreover, the mantra acts on a person’s karma, fostering improved karma and expediting the journey towards enlightenment.
The mantra, known as the Bhaishajyagur Mantra, is as follows:
“Teyata Om Bekandze-Bekandze Maha Bekandze Randze Samud Gate Soha.”
The appearance of the Healing Dzi bead is rather unassuming, typically featuring a single thread-like strip in the center, often white. The remaining color of the bead is commonly black or carnelian. A wider ribbon-like strip symbolizes wealth and the capacity for healing.
Beads with wider bands contribute to the overall comfort of the owner, while those with thinner stripes are considered more potent for healing. The Dzi Medicine bead aids in the restoration of lost vital energy. Healers frequently deplete their energy in the process of aiding others, and this bead becomes instrumental in swiftly replenishing and maintaining the healer’s health.
It is not uncommon for individuals to experience worry and guilt regarding their perceived inadequacies in managing their karma effectively. Such emotions are counterproductive and can contribute to illness and increased karma. The Dzi Buddha of Medicine assists in navigating such non-constructive emotional states, promoting proactive efforts to address karma without succumbing to guilt.
The Healing Dzi fosters the return of joy, laughter, and a sense of ease to its owner’s life, particularly crucial for healers whose mission involves restoring health to others. Healers must ensure that their lives are filled with positivity, allowing them to fulfill their vital roles unencumbered. The Dzi Medicine bead proves to be a valuable ally in this endeavor.
However, individuals seeking to harness the power of the Dzi Medicine bead solely for evading responsibilities or selfish motives may experience adverse effects, potentially introducing chaos into their lives and accumulating heavy karma.
Before tapping into the potency of this Dzi, individuals must discern a genuine need rather than succumbing to ego-driven desires. A prerequisite is an open heart filled with life and love. Only for such individuals does the Dzi Buddha of Medicine unveil its full strength.
